If you are an international student (non-US Citizen, non-US Permanent Resident) applying to Stevens Institute of Technology and English is not your first language, you must demonstrate English proficiency with one of the following:
English proficiency waivers may be granted on a case by case basis for international students who have studied in the US for at least 3 years from the time of application. Please contact the admissions office after submitting your application to request a waiver.
** Stevens Institute of Technology is extending the SAT/ACT test optional policy, with some exceptions, through Fall 2026 first year applicants. Please review our test optional plan here.
International applicants are strongly recommended to schedule an interview. The review committee may choose to reach out to certain applicants at their discretion. Interviews are available in person, on the phone and via Zoom. To schedule an interview, please visit our Campus Visit Portal or contact our international admissions counselor.
International applicants are strongly recommended to supply financial documentation with your application. If you plan to use your personal funds to cover all of your educational and living expenses at Stevens, the only document you have to submit is a copy of your recent official bank statement. If at least a portion of your financial support comes from a sponsor, both you and your sponsor have to complete the Stevens Financial Verification Form. If you have more than one sponsor, each of your sponsors has to complete and sign this form. Once you've completed the form, please upload it, along with a copy of your official bank statement, to your student portal.
Although international students are not eligible for federal funding from the U.S. Department of Education, Stevens awards a limited number of merit scholarships to international students. International students who wish to be considered for institutional scholarship must submit the College Scholarship Service Profile (CSS PROFILE) on the College Board website. Remember to designate Stevens Institute of Technology as the recipient of your CSS PROFILE information by using our CSS school code: 2819.
The deadline to submit your CSS Profile can be found on the Admissions Timeline.
To be considered for admission, international students must provide an official high school transcript translated to English. All non-US college transcripts must also be translated to English and be accompanied by a credential evaluation report from WES, ECE, SpanTran or any NACES (National Association of Credential Evaluation Services) member organization. A detailed syllabus is required for all courses to be considered for transfer evaluation and must be translated in English. Additionally, applicants must demonstrate English proficiency with one of the following:
The Form I-20 will enable you to apply for an F-1 visa to study at Stevens Institute of Technology. The Office of International Students and Scholar Services (ISSS) at Stevens offers more information on how to request a Form I-20.
